T-shirt Design: The Flash

When my brother and I were young, one of our mutual obessions focused on comic book collecting. We were mostly DC fans, for some reason, and I went through a Superman, Legion of Superheroes, Green Lantern and Flash phase.

I was wondering the other day if our collection has become valuable. We have around 3,000 comics, most of them bagged (with the proper archival quality plastic and acid-free backong board). In the 70s and 80s I remember pouring over the pricing guides, thinking that someday we might have a valuable or rare book. The thought ended when we'd look at the top of the line prices, for books published in the 40s and 50s. So long ago. The other day I realized that many of our books are 20-30 years old.

Since our parents managed to sell the Star Wars teading cards, and all of the action figures, the comic books have taken on this legendary status, secure and just waiting to age into priceless memorabilia.

I was inspired to design a T-shirt for the spring, with the Golden Age Flash on the back. Can't wait for the weather to warm up to wear it.
